Our economic system must evolve to meet the changing needs and aspirations of humanity, writes transformational author Darwin Gillett, in his thought provoking book Noble Enterprise: The Commonsense Guide to Uplifting People and Profits. The author demonstrates clearly how a fulfilled and empowered workforce is beneficial to a company and to the economy as a whole.

Bravo! Dar Gillett shows that, when the CEO truly believes that “people are the company’s most important asset,” he or she can achieve miracles. The case example in this book sings out with excitement and joy as the nearly 3,000 people of a failing company rally to transform it into an industry leader in just three years.

Dar Gillett has been a pioneer in the field of spirituality in the workplace as an executive, a consultant, and an author. In Noble Enterprise, he offers us a model for the future of corporations, if we are to have a sustainable, just, and balanced planet. I took Noble Enterprise with me on an 11:30 pm flight from Istanbul to Beijing with the goal of just skimming it briefly and then sleeping. But I got so engrossed in the book that I read it cover to cover. I found the premise not only extremely exciting, but it also gave me hope as an employee and leader. Overall, a great read!!

Since 1989 I have read a minimum of 120 business books a year, and I can say without question that Noble Enterprise is one of the best I have ever read. Why? Because it does such an incredible job of getting to the heart and soul of what it takes to run a truly successful business in modern times. “Now, more than ever, leaders need to understand that great companies are built by taking fantastic care of employees… so that they can take superb care of the customer. Gillett has done an incredible job of giving clear, specific, and actionable ideas to help the reader understand exactly what they must do to create a Noble Enterprise. “I was so impressed with this book that I bought several more copies to send to clients around the world — because I felt so strongly that this was a message they needed to hear. If you are interested in building an organization that uplifts people, delights customers and creates sustainable profitability and success — you absolutely need to read this book.

Publications

NobleEnterpriseCover202x29820DOMHow do leaders and organizations get the knowledge, practical processes – and inspiration they need in order to lead their organizations to new heights? One important source is published books and articles, but there are so many that the choice of which to read can be daunting. Darwin Gillett makes the choice much easier. Why? Because his works have been praised as providing breakthroughs in management thinking. He writes from personal experience, citing real examples to illustrate his points – and to give readers the confidence and desire they need to try these approaches.

For example, after Darwin spoke at the 2012 International Business Conference hosted by Fundação Dom Cabral, a Brazilian business school whose executive program is ranked eighth globally by Financial Times, they asked him to write an article for their management magazine – DOM. In that article, he wrote about the growing importance of the “Invisible Heart” in powering successful businesses, citing examples not just from the U.S., but also from Brazil and India. DOM featured the article as their cover story complete with graphics depicting the heart at work (see cover to right).

In this section, you’ll find a list and description of Darwin’s published writings (and links to read the articles free) including:

  • ARTICLES »

These writings address the four main areas that Darwin speaks on, namely:

  • Leadership
  • Strategies for Building Competitive Advantage
  • Mining Human Capital
  • Socially Responsible Business
